20 years from the fall of the Berlin Wall
Today the 9th of November 2009, was the 20th anniversary from the fall of the Berlin Wall. A date that has come to represent the end of the political era of the cold war and the beginning of the globalisation era.
The 'Festival of Freedom' planned to mark the anniversary will see giant dominos that will feature in a live performance and will include the designers of the Domino Action, politicians, contemporary witnesses and guests from all over the world. The former German Foreign Minister, Hans-Dietrich Genscher, and the Nobel Peace Laureates Kofi Annan, Muhammad Yunus and Mikhail Gorbachev will be among the guests.
Being from the last divided capital of Europe and working with the ideas of the border in a multi faceted manner, it is no surprise that this day is on my earliest media memories....
