Inspired and described by surrealism

As a first entry into what I hope to be a diary of images and texts I want to refer to the multiple facets of surrealism and to the poem of painter and poet Nikos Egonopoulos:

I know that
if I had
a suit of clothes
-a dress coat-
pale green in colour
with big red gloomy flowers

if in place of the
invisible
aeolian harp that serves me
for a head
I had a square bar
of green soap
so that its one side
would rest
lightly
between my two shoulders

if I were able
to replace
the sacred shrouds
of my voice
with the love
felt by
a metaphysical musical maiden
for the rains' black umbrellas

perhaps then
only then
I'd be able to relate
the fleeting vision
of joy
I once saw
-when a child-
staring devoutly
into the round
eyes
of birds
